The Space Pirates Guild has a long tradition of excellence in... something. We can't remember right now. However, lots of other folks really are excellent in their fields, so here's the page where we link to their sites. Wai wai!
Fanfiction Links (In no particular order)
Planet X Tales: Home of Doug "Defwood" Wood: We used to have some of Doug's work here at the guildhouse, but they got lost when the webmaster's harddrive went kaputski. Still, he's a helluva fine writer, and you should check out his stuff, it's well worth it. Write Ranma, Godzilla, and Kiki's Delivery Service fics. Yes, that's right, Kiki fics. Good ones, too.
Fragments, By Linda Shen One of the lesser-known pieces of Ranma fanfic, but it deserves so much more. It's a romance, a mystery... It's incredibly good. Just read it, fool!
Eyrie ProductionsThe fellas who pretty much invented the Anime fanfic, 'way back in 1991, if ya can believe it. Loads of stories, not a Ranma or Dragonball fic in sight, and two of the only four Self-Insertion fanfics Angry Dave has ever liked. (Undocumented Features and Hopelessly Lost)
Studio Shinnyo: the Fanfiction of Strike Fiss The homepage of the author of one of the other two Self-Insertion fanfics Angry Dave has enjoyed (Sailor Moon Omoi), likely because it's SO incredibly self-indulgent and over the top, you can't help but love it. Also the winner of two (or was that three) 1999 Tako Balls awards for his Evangelion fanfiction, and he was nominated for several more.
www.virtuallyjeannie.com No, Angry Dave is not an "I Dream Of Jeannie" otaku, but this guy IS. The pages of Corwin, a writer of some seriously imaginative fusion fanfics, some of which Angry Dave pre-reads. Check him out one time, won't you?
The Anime Bar and Grille The homepage of Joshua "Gargoyle" Trujillo, author of some rilly rilly kewl alternate-reality fanfics. "Ranma: the All-Americans" and "Evangelion: The Fate of Hearts". Gargoyle is also the originator of the term "Elsetimes" for fanfics, a title Angry Dave shamelessly pirated (there's that word again). Angry Dave also pre-reads this guy's stuff.
Quantum Destinies Some fanfiction fans eagerly await the next "Hearts of Ice" installment with baited breath, others "Daigakusei no Ranma". Angry Dave goes nuts for "Quantum Destinies". One of the Ultimate Alterniverse Ranma fanfics. If you haven't read it, start now. Seriously.
Yonge-Darling Productions Hosts the fanfiction of Allyn Yonge, the author of the most painstakingly-researched fanfics in existence. Occasionally dark, often slightly bawdy, and always engrossing. Allyn is also one of the best C+Cers on the FFML, an ability Angry Dave envies, as he does nowhere near as much of that as he should.
The Fanfiction of DB SommerC'mon, this guy wrote "Shampoo 1/2" and "Vacation Days"! Why aren't you reading his stuff already? One of the Great Ones of the FFML, D.B. writes well in many series, from the ubiquitous Ranma to Zeiram the Animation. One helluva guy, folks.
The Fanfiction of Jim R. BaderThe biggest Nabiki-Ranma 'shipper in fandom; also the most prolific. I think it's entirely fair to say that Jim's written more kb worth of Ranma fanfic than anyone else active in fandom today, and amazingly, 90% of it is incredibly good, despite Sturgeon's Law! Home of "A Very Scary Thought", a.k.a. Nabiki 1/2, "A Tale of Two Wallets", "Reality Squared", and many, MANY more.
WEB COMICS
SinFest: Take Calvin and Hobbes, add 2 cups of hip-hop culture, a dash of philosophy, and some of the best cartooning since Walt Kelly, place in blender and hit "puree". Funny, funny stuff.
MegaTokyo: Amazingly, this strip has nothing to do with Bubblegum Crisis, despite the fact that one of the lead characters' names is Largo. Also a well-drawn and damn funny send up of anime and video game otaku culture.
Exploitation Now: Imagine the guys down at Gainax losing all sense of good taste and you have this evil little strip. Perverted Moogles, mallet-wielding fairies being forced to strip at gunpoint, porn stars and Elder Gods living in the toilet. Need I say more?
Avalon: Unlike the above strips, you could reasonably show this one to your mother and not expect a beating. Humor and endless twistiness are the hallmarks of Avalon, a high-school comedy/drama any anime fan will appreciate.
Fans!: Once a print comic by T Campbell and featuring the artistic stylings of Jason Waltrip (Yes, the fella who did the "Robotech: The Sentinels" comic adaptation) now a webcomic that stretches the possibilities of a daily 3-4 panel format. Sweet art, funny story full of fannish in-jokes, and great design.
OTHER KEWL STUFF:
www.animemusicvideo.org A labor of fannish love, this site hosts loads of Anime Music Videos (Y'know, those things they show at cons?) all available for download. I would suggest getting DivX, since many of the videos here require it to play properly. I personally recommend the works of Doki-Doki Productions; I've never met them, but they've got some skillz and great senses of humor.
Raven's Garage The ultimate resource for Bubblegum Crisis fans, ol' doc Raven has tech specs, screen caps, scans from art books, photos of REAL hardsuits... Man, it's like a feast for the BGC fan's senses. Yumm...
The Wilde Home For Wayward Catgirls A fine institution that seeks to find loving homes for Catgirls gone astray. Pay a visit, why don't you? the Space Pirates Guild are the proud sponsors of three young ladies of excellent breeding. See below.
